Wood Apple Chutney (In  Bengali  we  call  it Koth Bel Makha). This one is another  one from my  childhood  favourite  list. Yeah, yeah, I was a big chatori  and  should  admit  that  I still become a little girl at heart when I see the chatpata favourites of my childhood. ‘Bhai  Kya Kare Dil To Baccha Hai Ji.’ Not  everyone would like the smell of this fruit. But I have a weakness, whenever I see this in any of the super markets  my nose pulls me there and they look at me so innocently that I have to buy them. In our school days we used to get these in front of our school gates.

In Bangalore it’s  not so easy to find. Once in a blue moon we find these. Even my hubby dearest says that its so easy to make you happy with these simple things. Whenever I am  angry with him which happens very less, he only has to get me either some ber (Jujube berries), ice goals, wood apples, or else imli churan. Any one of these items he brings and I forget all my anger and a big smile comes on my face. I always believe that simple things brings happiness in our lives, we shouldn’t fancy flashy things.

Psst.. sometimes I act to be angry just to get any of these goodies. Do try this Bengali chutney.
