This is my take on desi mocktail, as I wish to call it as it has both the elements of modern and desi with a touch of love, that what makes all the difference in any thing, don’t you think so.

My mom always used to give us black grape juice as a child, with some black salt added in it and I always wished that I could somehow bring some fizz into the drink, so experimented with is and voila came up with this tangy, fizzy, yum, tasting drink, my kiddo loved it and my mission is successful.

So go ahead and try my version of this drink and enjoy your summers, with more such yum and cool looking drinks.
Do try and give me a feed back if possible, have shared more summer cooler drinks, like Jaljeera, Shirley Temple, Strawberry Mojito all nonalcoholic drinks so that your kids can also enjoy them.

blackgrape2_1INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 cups – Black grape juice (I used fresh black grape juice)
  • 1 ½ tbsp – Tamarind pulp
  • 1 tbsp – Chat masala powder
  • ¼ tsp – Black salt (Optional)
  • Sprite or 7 up to top the drink
  • Crushed ice as needed
  • Black grapes and fresh mint leaves to garnish.
  • Sugar if needed (as the grapes and sprite contain sugar, so I didn’t need any)

blackgrape3_1blackgrape4_1METHOD:

  1. Grind the black grapes along with the tamarind pulp and strain the mixture with the help of a juice strainer.
  2. Take the juice in a bowl add chat masala, black salt and mix well.
  3. In a serving glass add crushed ice till half of the glass and pour in the black grape juice mixture till half then top the remaining glass with sprite or 7 up.
